Sunnyside Park, Toronto

Trip Rating: 4.5/5

Sunnyside Park is a beach on Lakeshore Avenue in Toronto. The beach is on Lake Ontario but there are breakwaters off the shore to keep the water relatively flat at all times. From the beach, you can paddle in two interesting directions with a lot of things to see. For this trip I headed towards Ontario Place. If I headed West, I could have explored the Humber River. I highly recommend getting on the water early for this trip. The parking, beach and water get extremely busy, I launched at 6:30am and had the entire lake to myself!

Launch Sites:

Finding a place to park was no problem, there is a large municipal lot directly adjacent to the beach. There is a short walk across the park, just be sure to look out for cyclists. To find it, enter 43.6340413,-79.4704234 into Google Maps.

There is no dock for launching or bathrooms, but it is very close to the city, so facilities aren’t far away, if needed.
